This website is maintained by an author in 信報, for analyzing the TV commercials.

This time, it talked about the Park'N Shop's latest commercials, "一屋稱心人".

More details are here.

From an email about IT certification

Certification in project management is also gaining in popularity. "Project management experience is so wide and varied that a standardized way of benchmarking a person's abilities is needed," said Saw.

Certified IT Project Manager (CITPM) is popular in Singapore. "If you check the newspapers for vacancies in project manager positions, CITPM will be asked for in at least eight out of 10 roles," Saw noted.

Certification for process competencies like Project Management Professional (PMP) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), which builds knowledge and competencies in IT service management, are also emerging in Asia, Nava said.

I dun like the sun today, too strong.

After being under the sun, (and didn't put sun block), my face turned red. When I still rowed in the University team, I like to be in black. At that time, my dad told me it's ugly to look so tan. I didn't realize that, or I didn't change my mind, until now.

Does that mean I am always a bit slow in response or slow in realization?

Gotta think about this.

Copied from 信報.

All of your major life decisions are easier and more productive if you know where we are in the economic and investment cycles.

Investmen analyst Peter Hofstra: The war is won in the down markets. In an up market almost everyone does well. When there is a big shift, it is made in a down market. That's when you see acquisitions being made: that's when you see the strong guys with the money hire talents being laid off from firims with a fragile business model. The strong can not only survive but also benefit from a down draft or bear market.

The purpose of investment:

抵禦通脹, and 幫資本增值.

Following this thought, think about why we buy stocks, and what kind of stocks should we buy?

so good that I read another chapter of Chris Patten's Not Quite the Diplomat. Frankly, I seldom read this book when I was at home; I usually read it on the train. Reading it at home is much more effective. Somehow I could stand reading it for an hour, though I just finished one chapter.

The chapter is about the relationship of EU with the neighbour countries. One thing interesting was about Russia. He said the EU should have built a better relationship with Russia, Russia had a much better cultural history than Europe. However, his impression on Russia was not quite good at all, the word "corruption" appeared from time to time in this chapter.

It made me wonder how valuable to invest in Russia; it's now so popular to invest fund related to BRIC.

Also, reading the book of Tony made me learnt much. He, as other great investors, emphasized on long term investment on capable stocks (which are of capable companies). I think why they emphasized long term investment because they 've been through short-term investment, no matter having won or lost, they 've learnt many lessons from those short-term investment experience. But turning from doing short-term investment to doing long-term investment doesn't mean they won't care about the techniques of doing short-term, and I think when they 're doing long-term, they would concern the factors related to short-term. Also, I think even they focus on doing long-term, they will still do short-term from time to time (as Warren Buffet will).

In short, you learnt from the pain of doing something bad, that's why you can do the good more wise and better than those just doing the good. So sometimes, it's not bad to do something bad.

Got up at 1030 today, felt a little bit down.

Down because I felt strengthless to do what I want to do.

星期日抑鬱症 is something I named for the behavior of my dad, cos he sometimes felt a bit down on Sunday. But this is something for me today.

After having lunch today, I drove grandma back home. She said in the lift, "睇下你, 瘦晒, 食多d 啦, 唔好咁擔心", no matter if she really knew what I exactly worried about, she's telling me to do something I need to do, "唔好咁擔心". Actually what I thought is much more than what she thought.

I went out again after back home, went to CWB to the times square. Had a cup of coffee in the Pacific Coffee, and read the book I brought along for an hour. Then walked for a while in the City super. It's quite ridiculous, in the days when I am not alone, I dun quite like to walk and see in the mall and shops, but now when I am alone, I like to walk around. Hey, it's not about who I am going with, but it's just about timing. Maybe before I thought it's wasting time, and I dun have the energy to do so. But now I 'd rather walk slowly there and try to see everything more clearly. 細味... Also, it's quite enjoyable to walk slowly and see, because in the week days the rythmn is already very fast, so why dun slow down as much as I can in the week ends?

When a man gets quite old, he will become a little boy. When a woman gets quite old, she will become a little girl.

Right now, my family got a little boy and a little girl. I have to go to see the little boy once in a while, and at home I have to take care a little girl.
Got my bidded item today, but I found that it's fxxx (not fuck)!

Immediately I tried to get help from the paypal.com, so good that I could have a chance to get my money back. Well.. that seller first claimed to sell authentic item to me, but that he saw me filed a claim in the paypal.com, then that guy started to offer me less than half refund. Of course I won't accept it. Finally he accepted to give me full refund.

If I could successfully get my full refund, I 'd say I love eBay and paypal.com, cos it really provides protection to the buyers in ebay.

Also, I dun mind there's evil in the business world, but what I wanted is to make a good deal, providing what others want, and getting what I want. I dun care how that guy would handle the shoes. Maybe he would sell it to another person, who cares!

At last, my first auction set in eBay was closed. Actually the price is not really good. But it's still ok, since the shoes are actually used and being used for nearly eight years.

But I am really interested on making a good deal. I think it's not just providing a good stuff, but the timing is really important, that's what I have to figure out. Looking at a eBay marketing data provider website, there 're quite many statistics to study. Anyway, I think this is interesting.
Anytime I can slow down, anything that I can slow down, I want to slow down a bit.

Found a website for download video from youtube.com

http://keepvid.com/

Actually it let you download video from various sources, such as google video, and other sites.

The downloaded video is in flv format, if you wanna make it a avi, mpeg, you can find other video converters.
This is my first try in eBay, but it seems it didn't catch much attention.

Actually I just take it as a way to experience selling in eBay, cos I did much buying there before. So I wanna have a try selling here.

Most investors come into the market with the belief that the best approach is a valid-oriented one. We should "buy low and sell high". So when stocks and the market are hitting new highs they are emotionally driven to sell . They want to redploy their money their money that are "bargains", which, for most people, simply mean "not their highs". The problems with this thinking is that for stocks to go higher and double and triple over time they have to trade at their highs. If you sell a stock when it hits a new high, how is it possible to hold any when it's doubling?

Went to see mum in the hospital tonight.

Even it's a scheduled operation, even she looked very well when she was getting into the hospital, but anyway, she 'd feel very tired after the operation, and she just looked like very tired,... and looked like my grandma( her mother) a bit, even the way to cough.

Just an imagination, but that's how she looked like if she got sick someday.

Am I ready for anyone close to me going away? No, surely not. I imagined this situation, and for sure I will be very sad.
